Why do we follow the keto diet among all the integrated health systems available now? What distinguishes it from other diets and makes it unique, with the rule of "eat fat to lose it"?

We have always heard of the keto diet, which is distinguished for being one of the most severe diets that helps very effectively in losing weight, but what is the reason that makes many people follow it
Is it because of its fame?

Is it beacsue of how highly effective its in losing weight?
What is the secret that brought it to that point?
When you start the keto diet and follow it completely for two weeks, this may lead to losing more than 10 kilos of your weight due to fluid retention, which may be  Locked up for several years due to excessive sugar intake.
Sugar leads to an increase in insulin, and when you eat it in abundance, the body will not be able to consume it, which will turn it into fat, and after only two weeks or less of stopping eating sugar, you will find that you have an excessive desire to urinate to expel the fluids accumulated over the years. This is what makes it special, as you only need a few days to see the results of your keto diet.

However, there will be withdrawal symptoms that vary in severity from one person to another, such as:
Weakness
dizziness
Confused thinking and insomnia

All these symptoms will go away gradually with time, it is difficult for your body to give up the main energy source (carbohydrates) so easily, and the consumption of carbohydrates, especially the popular sweetener (sugar), affects a huge increase in a chemical secreted by the brain called dopamine, which in turn is responsible for the center Happiness is in the body, and that is what makes it very difficult for people to quit or even reduce their carbohydrate consumption, as they need that reward that makes them happier, which is (dopamine).
We have always heard when we were young that fat is the cause of all heart diseases and cholesterol, and that is what made us turn to carbohydrates and sugars, and we also learned later that carbohydrates are the cause of diabetes and high blood pressure, so they told us to moderate our food, but at the same time they make us eat oils Hydrogenated and processed sugars, and we had no help at the time, as neurotransmitters permeated and cognitive skills were weakened.
The effects of excessive sugar consumption are countless.

What are the benefits of fats?

  1. Fats is the slowest to digest and this is what makes us feel full.
On the contrary, carbohydrates are the fastest to digest, so they will not give you a feeling of satiety for only an hour or two with a lot.
Because of this, there is a strong relationship between following keto and intermittent fasting, because keto is a diet that makes you full most of the time, which will force you to fast in order to get a mixture of benefits from both sides.

  2. The brain contains 60% of fats, which makes fats great in strengthening memory and learning.

  3. Strengthening the immune system against harmful viruses and bacteria.

  4. Increased growth hormone due to low blood glucose levels.

Why is the keto diet popular?
The keto diet has become popular among Arabs due to its effectiveness in losing weight, but...
Is keto a lifestyle?
I won’t lie to you, but following the keto diet as a lifestyle is one of the hardest things you will ever do in your life. The reason for this is that most, if not all, popular foods in the Arab world always contain a source of carbohydrates: rice, white flour, and dates.
When you are going to a party and they offer you food, it is very difficult to say to them, “I can’t because I am on a diet.”
For us Arabs, it is shameful to say no when your guest honors you, but unfortunately they do not know the extent of the damage that may happen to them in the future, such as diabetes, obesity, and heart disease.
The reason for this is that they have made excessive carbohydrate consumption a way of life , which means that they are addicted just like drugs and smoking, but unlike drugs and smoking, carbohydrate addiction is a permissible addiction unlike any other addiction, despite their full knowledge that it will cause you heart disease and diabetes.
You don't have to make the keto diet a lifestyle now, but try following the keto diet for at least a month, and then you will notice the difference in your health and appearance, so try by all means to make it a lifestyle.
